The Seaside Music Festival presents
An Evening with Judy Collins

Judy Collins has inspired audiences with sublime vocals, boldly vulnerable songwriting, personal life triumphs, and a firm commitment to social activism. In the 1960s, she evoked both the idealism and steely determination of a generation united against social and environmental injustices. Five decades later, her luminescent presence shines brightly as new generations bask in the glow of her iconic 50-album body of work, and heed inspiration from her spiritual discipline to thrive in the music industry for half a century.

The award-winning singer-songwriter is esteemed for her imaginative interpretations of traditional and contemporary folk standards and her own poetically poignant original compositions. Her stunning rendition of Joni Mitchells’ “Both Sides Now” from her landmark 1967 album Wildflowers, has been entered into the Grammy Hall of Fame. Judy’s dreamy and sweetly intimate version of “Send in the Clowns”, a ballad written by Stephen Soldheim for the Broadway musical A Little Night Music, won “Song of the Year” at the 1975 Grammy Awards. She’s garnered several top-ten hits, gold- and platinum selling albums. In recent years, Judy has continued to release new music and receive award recognition, including Grammy nominations for Best Folk Album in 2017 and 2023.

The Seaside Music Festival presents
The Soul Summit featuring Dawn Pemberton and Emily Braden

The Seaside Music Festival presents an extraordinary evening of soul, gospel, jazz, and funk, bringing together two of North America’s most compelling vocalists for a one-night-only collaboration.

Award-winning artist Dawn Pemberton joins forces with New York City’s Emily Braden in a rare meeting of voices that is as technically stunning as it is deeply engaging. Known for their warmth, charisma, and sense of humour, both artists create performances that are as inviting as they are inspiring.

Having spent time working together in advance of the show, Pemberton and Braden will present a dynamic program of individual sets and collaborative performances—an unforgettable celebration of voice, connection, and musical excellence.

Dawn Pemberton is a vibrant, soulful Canadian vocalist and multiple Juno Award nominee whose powerful voice moves effortlessly from gospel and soul to jazz, funk, and world music. A staple of the Vancouver music scene, she has toured extensively across Canada and Europe, sharing stages with legends like Bettye LaVette and Kurt Elling, and opening for Maceo Parker and St. Paul & The Broken Bones. Dawn’s acclaimed debut album, Say Somethin’, earned her the title of “the new queen of Canadian soul.” She is also the founder of the Roots ‘N’ Wings Women’s Choir, a sought-after educator, and host of Get on The Good Foot on CKUA Radio. With adventure, groove, and heart, Dawn brings music to life, hitting audiences where it counts and leaving them wanting more.

Emily Braden is the winner of New York City’s ‘Best of the Best’ Jazzmobile Vocal Competition and two-time cultural ambassador with the US Embassy’s Arts Envoy Program. Originally from Boise, Idaho, Braden is a Harlem-based vocalist, songwriter and lyricist who effortlessly blends jazz and soul to elevate the tradition and win the hearts of audiences around the world. NYC performances include Birdland Jazz Club, Blue Note Jazz Club (Groove Series), The 55 Bar and Minton’s Playhouse. Her sophomore album Cannon & Sparrow is a celebration of resilience released in 2023.

Nautical Disaster was formed in 2018 by frontman Ryan LeBlanc, after hearing enough people at karaoke nights tell him to start his own Tragically Hip tribute act. With vocals set, finding the musicians wasn’t tough. Rodney VanSpengen (Drums) has been with the project since the beginning, with Harry Somers (Bass/Vocals) joining about 8 months in, Stéphane Côté (Guitar/Vocals) has been with the band for two years but knew most of the members personally before joining, and Graham Francis (Guitar) joined us in 2025. The Band has survived the Covid Lockdown, and our lead singer getting married! Played shows on beaches, docks, boathouses, backyards & festivals, during heat domes & atmospheric rivers. A tight-knit group of guys who love what we do, professional and easy to work with.

Based in Victoria, BC – Willing to travel between Saskadelphia and the 100th meridian.
